The Foundation
for Freedom

Therapy is radical. It’s a tool to help you dismantle the societal constructs you’ve been living within and reframe your relationship with yourself and with the world.

Today’s power systems were not made with Queer, Black, Indigenous and Brown folx in mind. In fact, they were designed to keep us down. These oppressive systems manifest into mental health issues like anxiety, stress, trauma, depression, and low self-esteem.

At Liberate, we work together with our clients to unlearn these mental biases that are causing us to feel deficient in our lives. Through awareness and mindfulness, we are able to free ourselves from the symptoms of this oppression and heal ourselves. We use individualized, evidence-based treatments to help our clients move forward feeling liberated and empowered.

Breaking
Down Barriers

Money should never be a barrier when it comes to caring for your mental health. That’s why our payment system allows for various reduced fee options. This way, those who are able get to subsidize treatments for others who are not able to afford mental healthcare at the moment. We know accessibility to high-quality care is a hurdle for many marginalized folx, and believe a strong, allied community is one way to chip at the inequity.

Dr. Tanya Erazo

Dr. Tanya Erazo (Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, with an emphasis in Forensic Psychology) has devoted her career to empowering women, immigrants, Queer, Black, Indigenous and Brown folx to understand their mental health symptoms and explore where they may be stemming from. Through proven, evidence-based methods, she helps her clients pinpoint what areas of their lives can be impacting them negatively and find the tools and strategies to best address them.

An award-winning, published and experienced psychologist, Dr. Erazo knows firsthand the inequities marginalized people face. She knew her expertise would best serve communities that typically don’t have access to mental health providers who are able to relate to and empathize with them. Her blend of knowledge, experience and relatability allows her to provide high-quality care for those who have been overlooked, overpathologized or left behind by the system.
